The Third Medical Center Facility is a replacement hospital for the 3rd Medical Group at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. It is a 110-bed facility providing a full range of inpatient, labor and delivery, outpatient and dental services for Elmendorf and the surrounding military and VA population.

The 3rd Medical Center is one of a few medical facilities in the United States that was designed with a full interstitial level above each of the occupied floors. The interstitial floor space contains mechanical duct work, piping, cable trays and ample room for maintenance personnel to access every area of the facility. The most beneficial aspect of the interstitial floor was the ability for the maintenance personnel to work on the system without interfering with the ongoing functions below.
